The Gazelle of Souss : Tafraout

Millions of tourists visit Morocco every year, many of them are Europeans traveling to the beautiful North African nation for fun in the sun. Pristine beaches are one of the main attractions, but Morocco has a wealth of natural beauty to explore. From the mountain to the sea, and stroll through the many travels loaded with fascinating landscape distinctive work. Morocco offer a plethora of experiences for the traveler.

Small village of Tafraout

The mountain range of the High Atlas is remarkable for its striking sterility, the Middle Atlas offers a reprieve with its thick forests. Cedar forests provide a scented experience for those traveling to the Mischiflen crater or overlooking the incredible views. Visit the small village of Tafraout, it is best known for its rocks, which put back in gold, pink and light gray when the sun strikes from its different positions in the sky. Green and calm,

It is the ideal way to discover Morocco and to have practically to yourself. Discover the flora and fauna of this unique, feature-rich locale or get your workout for the day with a hike through the rugged terrain.

Ameln Valley

When you first see Ameln Valley, you can consider a world of its own. Ameln Valley is best known for the 26 villages that reside there. It is also known for the natural landscape that surrounds it.

Villages sit scattered in the valley and mountains, allowing trees and wildlife to live again. Many villages have their own charm, but you’ll want to structure your holiday around the most beautiful tafraoute.
To visit the villages you can take a hike that moves you from one village to another from the main road. Your other option is to get around by car, then take a day trip through the area. Discovering Morocco can be fun and easy if you are not interested in long days of hiking and camping.

Famous village in the valley

The first and most famous village in the valley of the Ameln tour will be Tafraoute. Tafraoute allows you to explore the bottom of the valley and work your way to the higher altitudes. This is a starting point for your hikes if you wish.
Morocco has many areas that are worth seeing. Unlike the High Atlas Mountains, near the M’Goun, you will be in an area that is mapped when you visit Ameln Valley. The landscape has smaller trees, the earth less green and more clay. The Ameln Valley still has its own wild beauty in the sides of the rugged cliffs on the surrounding mountains and villages.
Tafraoute will take you to Oumesnat Village. This village is built in the rock of the Kest Mountains. The houses were built over old houses, which are no longer used. Most houses are on stilts to give them more stability.
After a great day of hiking through the village looking for the inspiration to see houses built on top of each other, you’ll want to go to Anameur. Anameur is home to one of the best attractions in this region of Morocco. The natural spring water pool sits above the village houses. It offers a relaxing day to wash flight tours in the past days. The spring also provides magnificent views of the Kest Mountains.
While in the area consider a trip to the Jebel El Kest. This mountain is 2359 meters above sea level. Morocco’s mountain flights will begin with an ascent to Tagoudiche village. The village is a nice stop before heading to the top of the mountain. On your walk, you should expect to see Kest, and a dike that sits below.
Another place to take a trek is Tirnmatmat in the Ameln Valley. It is the farthest village from your starting point where many rock carvings dating back thousands of years can still be seen. As you tour each section of the valley, you will be amazed at what you see. There is so much to wonder about in the country.
